Annette O'Toole grew up in the Houston dance studio run by her mother. As a young girl of two, she made her first appearance on television when she was a kid as a child on The Don Mahoney Children's Trooper program. Her mother and she with ten years of singing and dancing lessons to her credit, traveled to Los Angeles for an entire year in the age group of 13 to test out if she would be capable of making a living in showbiz. In just two months, she got her first professional job: dancing with Danny Kaye on The Danny Kaye Show. According to her "I learned from my lessons for dancing and singing across a myriad of ways." The discipline you get from this is great for actors." O'Toole's first role as a character in My Three Sons was followed by roles in Gunsmoke as well as The Mod Squad. She played on Hawaii Five-O, The Mod Squad, The Partridge Family. O'Toole is a regular on more than 40 television series. Despite her fame on TV and in movies the theater is her main interest. She made the decision, when the six-year run of Smallville ended, she would concentrate on theater exclusively. This is exactly what she has been doing since the beginning of the year. Since moving to New York, she had her debut on stage in The Sea Gull. She's been in several off Broadway productions, including Adam Rapp's "Kindness", Tracy Letts Man from Nebraska in addition to Tennessee Williams A Lovely Sunday for Creve Couer.
